    District Guide

Batu Arang is located in Selangor and was primarily considered to be a coal mining and brick building town. Now, it is a quaint sleepy town that provides the essentials needed for daily rustic life and holds the tokens of its quite ironically, highly industrial past. Almost everywhere, lies something related to its specialities of yesteryear.

From its bricks kilns to the locomotive tracks that were shut down in the 70s, the AMPC cement factory and a brick factory are still in view. It presently has basic amenities such as a post office and a town hall. Palm oil plantations are still present due to its excess of land. Although most housing in the area consist of kampung style settlements, it certainly is interesting to see cars parked outside the shacks. It is a true testament to Malaysia's undeniable modernisation.
