Jamentah is the third largest town in the district of Segamat, Johor and has quite the vibrant history. It is where one of Malaysia’s most well known civil war disputes between Tengku Alam Shah and Sultan Abu Bakar took place, ultimately won by the latter. It is within close proximity to the Segamat City Centre, is within driving range (via Federal Route 23) to the district of Muar and even the town of Tangkak. It is also home to the Universiti Teknologi MARA’s Johor campus.

Despite this, along with some exciting neighbours, the area only has around 10,000 people living within its confines, a small number by Malaysian standards. That being said, rather obviously, amenities are to be enjoyed in its connecting areas and enjoy one can. The Segamat area hosts the Upwell Shopping Center and even a Giant Hypermarket. Muar offers a variety of religious sites whereas Tangkak has its own hospital (Tangkak District Hospital).
