Kulai is a town in the Kulaijaya district of Johor, Malaysia. The town is 29 km from Johor Bahru city and 8 km from Skudai. Kulai was upgraded to a district on 1 January 2008 and has been renamed as Kulaijaya District.
There are a few Chinese temples and churches serving the needs of the Chinese community.
Chinese temples such as the "Thousand Fairies" Temple and churches that include the Presbyterian Church(SYNOD), and Christ the King Catholic Church. The Masjid Jamek is located within Kulai town and serve the needs of the Muslim townfolks. Moreover, some of the popular landmarks or places of interest include Pulai Mountain, Saleng Zoo, Nanyan Aquarium Center, and etc. Also, Giant Kulai Utama, Kulai Centre Point, and IOI Mall Kulai are just some of the shopping complexes in Kulai.
The city is accessible by road via the North-South Highway and the old road, rail operated by Malayan Railway (KTM) and by air via the Senai International Airport. Senai International Airport is also located in Senai, a strategic location within Kulaijaya District.
