Tangkak is the capital town of Johor’s Ledang district. Pretty modest when compared to other capital towns and cities, Tangkak does not fall short when it comes to serving the needs of its residents, even most of those living in Ledang itself. It has medical care (Tangkak District Hospital) and has a multitude of fabric stores, thus earning the name Fabric Town.
It also houses the recreational wonderland that is Mount Ophir, the tallest mountain in the whole of the state. Other than its many stores, local restaurants and housing estates (which are experiencing minor upgrading), its main attraction lies in its close proximity to a City Centre of another state entirely, Malacca. A mere 30 minute drive is enough to reach the bustling area.
