Despite being a township, Mont Kiara holds its own in the world of luxury housing. Situated in Kuala Lumpur; in the epicenter of Klang Valley, it is home to a number of condominiums such as The Solaris. The town has two international schools, namely the British Garden International School and the American Mont Kiara International School. It is a short distance away from the bustling streets of the KL City Centre. The Penchala Link Tunnel and the Sprint Expressway are linked to the town for easy travel.
Plaza Mount Kiara, located in the town, offers more than a complex thought could. It holds a fair annually called Mont Kiara Funday also known as Arts, Bric-a-Brac & Crafts or ABC Market. This showcases local art done by local people, setting up exhibitor stalls which attracts on average, about 3000 people each time. It has a weekly night market too called Fiesta Nite. The balance between traditional Malaysian lifestyle and cosmopolitan edge is probably why the area is also known for its high expatriate population.
