District Guide
Banting was known as the "rest town" for a reason. Located in the district of Kuala Langat, Selangor; it is a laid back town with a small population on the banks of the Langat River. The heart of the town, Bintang Sentral is not heavily industrialized and hosts rather simple and localised amenities like a pool hall and regular kopitiams. It thrives on its tourism as the town has some quirky areas of interest to offer. The Longan and Dragonfruit (types of tropical fruit) farms prove to be tourists' favourites, along with the paragliding range.
It also proves a worthy investment for businesses as farms harvesting such local treats are few and far between. The sleepy town completes itself with a beach and a golf club that share the name Morib. The beach had recently been under development to suit the town's unassumingly huge tourist crowd. The town even offers a glimpse into its history with the Sultan Abdhul Samad's palace aka the Istana Jugra. Travelling to Banting can be done via the KESAS Highway.
