Bandar Utama is a sub city located in Selangor. Another one of the many Malaysian towns to have had a humble beginning, Bandar Utama was a palm oil plantation before its modernisation. Now, major highway Sprint quite ironically links both sides of the town cum city together though its very construction had divided the area in the first place. This expressway maybe used along with the LDP. The town also has places and outlets of and for worship that cater to all the main religions of the country.
They are, Roman Catholicism (St. Ignatius church), Hinduism (Temple Kayu Ara, located a little outside the area), Buddhism (Bandar Utama Buddhist Society) and of course Islam with its own Surau and mosque. Academically it offers a host of primary and secondary schools along with the KBU International College. Recreationally, the town does not disappoint with its very own 1 Utama Shopping Complex, Centrepoint and its own community centre. It is also right next to the town Mutiara Damansara that boasts a Tesco, the Curve Mall and most impressively, the largest IKEA outlet in the whole of South – East Asia!
