District Guide
Pasir Gudang is located in Johor, specifically in its capital Johor Bahru. It is most well known for being a shipping port and is considered a light industrial estate. It also lends its name to the Pasir Gudang Highway which is one of the main roads in the area of Plentong, connecting areas like Permas Jaya to the port. To add to its commercial value, it also has the Sultan Iskandar Power station in its midst, the second to only two in the whole of the state. It has its own mosque, balancing out the Hindu temple located in Permas Jaya; more or less it’s neighbour.
The area, rather interestingly, functions on its own pretty much and is not financially dependant on the state government. So, the area on the whole can be considered private. It has a host of attractions and amenities under its belt including its Kite Museum, known for holding the Pasir Gudang International Kite Festival every year, the Tanjung Puteri Golf Resort, the Pasir Gudang Lake, its very own sports complex; Stadium Perbadanan Pasir Gudang and even its own racing track, the Johor Racing Circuit.
