Bandar Puncak Alam, is a leasehold town located in Selangor , Malaysia. Previously developed from a palm estate holding of Felda (Federal Land Development Authority) within the locale of Bukit Cherakah, this township started its initial development during the late 1990s under the management of Bukit Cherakah Development Sdn Bhd, a private company based in Shah Alam. Puncak Alam Housing Sdn Bhd later took over in 2001 as the principal developer of this township and joined hands with third party developers to develop the area. It is located in the farthest northwest of the state and has a Malay majority population. It is an integrated self-sustainable township with many neighbourhoods and developments within its area, including Alam Perdana, Alam Jaya, Ambang Suria and Shah Alam 2. It has also been designated as an “Education Town” along with neighbouring towns like Batang Berjuntai and Batu Arang where there will be no less than 20 tertiary institutions. Entertainment centres, schools, recreational areas, clinics, restaurants, mini markets and commercial areas are aplenty within the town.
Bandar Puncak Alam is served by the Kepong-Kuala Selangor Highway. As for public transportation, there is a Smart Selangor bus route KS02 connecting Puncak Alam to KA 08, SBK 1 Sungai Buloh MRT/KTM station. The UiTM campus also serves as a major bus interchange, with rapidKL Bus route 753 going to Setia Alam and Klang before terminating at the Shah Alam bus terminal in Section 14, downtown Shah Alam.
Bandar Puncak Alam is a well-developed area that has a lot to offer to its residents and also visitors. Some of the malls are Pearl Point Shopping Mall, Alam Jaya Commercial Centre, are places where residents can go to, to do some shopping or just pass time doing window shopping. There also many places of worship in and around Bandar Puncak Alam, such as Masjid Puncak Alam, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and Thiru Annamalaiyar Temple. In-case of medical emergencies, there are many clinics in the vicinity that residents can go to, like Klinik Alam Medic Puncak Alam, Poliklinik An-nisa’ Puncak Alam, Klinik Roziana, Klinik Pergigian Bestari and Klinik Mediviron Alam Jaya.
