Established in 1977, the seven-storey Sungei Wang Plaza is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most instantly recognizable shopping centres. Locals hail it as one of the cheapest places for retail therapy while foreigners say that it’s a convenient pit stop in the city’s Golden Triangle quadrant.

This 1.2 million sqft complex is well known for amassing an assortment of stores under one roof. The centre of the Sungei Wang Plaza's lower ground floor plays host to a large concourse in which a stage is occasionally set up to host live performances: around this open space are a selection of local designer clothing boutiques that specialise in young and funky fashion styles. Besides that, there are shops specialising in computers, cell phones and accessories such as chargers, casings and batteries.

Escalators lead to the ground floor where dozens more kiosks crowded together retail hand phones and their trimmings while more clothing and women’s costume jewellery stores encircle them in permanent store lots. The rest of the mall houses a variety of stores featuring products such as soft toys, games, watches, books, lifestyle items and entertainment.
