Ulu Kinta, also known as Hulu Kinta, is a small town that is located just north of Tambun, in the state of Perak . Located on the banks of the Kinta River in the Kinta Valley, it is a nature’s paradise surrounded by lush greenery, beautiful waterfalls, clear sparkling streams and amazing wildlife. It is also an important water catchment area and there is also and Orang Asli Settlement Village. It’s original residents were Malays who have a simple lifestyle in harmony with nature. Over the years, it’s natural beauty and attractions, have made this place into a popular tourist destination, especially after the Forest Rangers Camp was established. The nearest airport is at Ipoh, the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport, merely 22 minutes’ drive away. The Ipoh Railway Station is just 26 minutes away.
Many of the attractions and activities in Ulu Kinta revolves around nature There are many forest trails providing hiking and trekking adventures, especially at the nearby Ulu Kinta Forest Reserve. There are also cave temples to explore. However, a short drive away to Ipoh town will bring you to many more activities available there, such as the Gunung Lang Recreational Park, and DR Seenivasagam Recreational Park. The Sunway Lost World of Tambun is a theme park that features a swimming experience with real waves and water slides.
