Kinta is one of the districts in Perak and is one of the most densely populated areas of Perak. The majority of Kinta residents live in the northern part of the Perak capital city, Ipoh. This area’s excellence began with the discovery of tin in the early 19th Century. This attracted many Chinese to migrate to Malaya especially in Late and then the Kinta Valley. Involvement in the ore industry has been the cornerstone of Perak to become the most populous state in the early 20th Century. However, due to the rapid development in neighbouring states such as Selangor and Penang, many Perak people migrated.

The old interstate Route 1 connects Kinta with other major town and cities in peninsular Malaysia, for example Alor Setar and Penang to the north and Tapah, Kuala Lumpur, Seremban and even Johor Bahru in the south. There is also another way to travel to places using highways and one of them are by using the North-South Expressway (PLUS). Other than that, there are also trains that can allow you to travel to places. There is also an inter-city bus terminal located at Amanjaya Intergrated Bus Terminal in Bandar Meru Jaya.

Kinta is situated in a suburb close to Ipoh and this makes it a very strategic location because there are many things you can do here. There are theme parks you and your family can visit during their holidays and also spend quality time. Some of the theme parks there are, Tambun’s Sunway Lost World, this place is classified as one of Malaysia’s largest theme parks, so if you’re traveling here, it’s nice to stop there. Three of them are the Kellie’s Castle, the Temple of Perak Cave, Tempurung Cave, the refuge of the Banjaran Hotsprings and Sam Poh Tong. Education wise, Kinta is also pretty well equipped as there quite a number of schools you can choose from to send you kids to and the distance is not that far as well. All of them are Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ulu Kinta, SK Pakatan Jaya, Dato Panglima Primary School, General Operation Force National School of Police and Sekolah Kebangsaan La Salle. In emergency situations, residents and visitors can still access any of the clinics in the region as well as several clinics are also given. Two of the clinics are the Kinta Poliklinik and Surgery, Harmoni Clinic, Tanjong Dan Surgery Clinic, Perpaduan Poliklinic & Surgery, and Malaysia Clinic 1.
