Over 300 personnel of PR1MA Corporation, including its Chairman Tan Sri Dr Alies Anor Abdul and CEO Datuk Abdul Mutalib Alias, have sworn to renounce corruption recently.
In fact, they have inked the Corruption-Free Pledge (Ikrar Bebas Rasuah or IBR) launched by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). It was held in a signing ceremony witnessed by the watchdog’s Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki.
“PR1MA has pledged to fulfil our mandate to build homes for the middle-income group and the signing of the IBR is proof of our commitment to not let corrupt practices usurp our objectives,” said Abdul Mutalib.
He said those who steal taxpayers’ monies and those who take advantage of their position for material gain has no place in PR1MA, a non-profit agency whose objective is to provide affordable housing for Malaysians.
“Our biggest reward is in seeing the middle-income group achieve their dream of owning quality and affordable homes.”
PR1MA Corp noted that the IBR serves as a reminder to its employees that they are accountable for their actions. They must also perform their duties with honesty and integrity.
“This initiative serves as a sign of commitment from the leadership and staff to serve PR1MA members, our stakeholders and customers. The pledge is also in line with our policy that promotes anti-corruption practices among internal and external stakeholders.”
Furthermore, the agency revealed that 259,881 PR1MA houses across Malaysia have been approved as of 31 October 2017. Of this, 141,417 units are in various stages of construction.
