Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) recently officially launched the Elevated Link Bridge connecting the Old Klang Road to the New Pantai Expressway (OKR-NPE Link Bridge).
The successful completion of the OKR-NPE Link Bridge project eases the traffic flow on Old Klang Road and the surrounding Seputeh area. Additionally, it enhances connectivity for the communities of Pantai Dalam, Kampung Kerinchi, Taman Bukit Angkasa, PPR Sri Pantai, PPR Kampung Limau and Perumahan Pantai Permai to the primary road network. It is also poised to give a further boost to property values and commercial activities within the surrounding vicinity.
The OKR-NPE Link Bridge is an alternative route for traffic from Old Klang Road to Subang, Klang, Petaling Jaya and Bangsar. It reduces the travelling distance from Pantai Dalam to Old Klang Road, from approximately 5.5 kilometres to 2 kilometres, and the travelling distance from Taman Desa to Subang and Klang is shortened by about 5 kilometres.
The launch ceremony was officiated by The Honourable Puan Teresa Kok, Minister of Primary Industries cum Member of Parliament for Seputeh. Also in attendance was Dato’ Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur.
Construction of the OKR-NPE Link Bridge commenced in 2015 and was undertaken by MRCB Seputeh Land Sdn. Bhd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of MRCB. It was opened to the public in November 2018. The total length of this infrastructure project is 1.7 kilometres, comprising a 660metre dual carriageway link bridge and 1,040 metres of 12-meter width upgraded road.
“The successful completion of OKR-NPE Link Bridge is set to benefit the communities enormously. It also demonstrates MRCB’s continuous commitment, as a leading property developer and a pioneer of Transit Oriented Developments in Malaysia, towards providing comprehensive infrastructure for the overall improvement of areas where our developments are located,” said Dato’ Haji Ishak Haji Mohamed, Executive Vice President of MRCB.
“We are very proud of the official launch of OKR-NPE Link Bridge which passes through the 9 Seputeh development by MRCB Land. Its timely delivery provides improved connectivity that ultimately brings everything and everyone closer to one another,” Dato’ Haji Ishak added.
The launch ceremony was also witnessed by Kwan Joon Hoe, Group Chief Operating Officer of MRCB, and other members of MRCB senior management, community leaders, members of the media as well as representatives from federal and state authorities.
In the spirit of Malaysian togetherness, the event ended with an energetic lion dance performance in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
