Following the success of the rejuvenation works at the Kenari commercial area in Puchong Jaya and Sunway Metro, Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) plans to spruce up Puchong’s Bandar Puteri 1 and 2 commercial areas next.
This comes as these areas are plagued with dirty back lanes and drains, double parking and illegal structures.
In fact, MPSJ has engaged business owners via a town hall to identify priorities and problems, reported The Star.

State Local Government, Public Transport and New Village Development Committee Chairman Ng Sze Han called on business owners to cooperate with MPSJ to ensure the success of the project, which involve 799 business premises and 12 back lanes.
“Bandar Puteri is a business hub and we can even call it the Central Business District of Puchong, but it does not reflect the image of a CBD,” he said.
“We need to turn Bandar Puteri 1 and 2 into a financial and commercial hub that we can be proud of.”
Ng noted that cleanliness and maintenance within the commercial area is of utmost importance.
“We can keep playing the blame game but it will not solve the problem. Everyone must cooperate.”
He also reminded business owners that back lanes are public spaces, hence, not for personal use.
MPSJ President Noraini Roslan explained that the project aims to transform Bandar Puteri 1 and 2 into a sustainable, advanced, healthy and clean area. This is in line with MPSJ’s target of achieving city status this year or by January 2020, she said.
