WCT Group started life in 1981 as a one-machine company focused on earthworks. But from these humble beginnings, it has evolved into one of the country’s leading engineering, construction and property development firms.
Its property arm, WCT Land, in particular, has grown exponentially over the last two decades, with a portfolio that includes townships, luxury homes, high-rise residences, integrated commercial developments, office towers, hotels and shopping malls.
Making its maiden appearance at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Malaysia), the developer demonstrated its nationwide presence with nominations in both the Central and Southern condo categories. The Waltz Residence was the pick of the nominations, winning the highly-competitive Best Mid End Condo/Apartment Development (Central).
Part of the emerging W City OUG @ KL , which boasts 63 acres of residences, boutique offices, and neighbourhood community hub, Waltz Residences is the township’s first residential component.
It comprises 419 freehold units set across 33- and 38-storey towers. The selection of onsite amenities at The Waltz Residence, meanwhile, provides homeowners with an array of lifestyle activities and services.

The Olympic-length infinity pool is located on the 30th floor lower block, alongside a children’s pool, floating pavilion and sky garden. The gym and yoga decks, meanwhile, are positioned above the pool and garden area, providing inspiring views to enhance workouts. Apartments at the project range from 948 to 1,691 sq ft, with five unit types available. The largest — and arguably the highlight — are Type D1 and D2. Each feature 10-foot ceilings with floor-to-ceiling windows, some of which open onto 10×3-foot balconies, providing impressive vistas of KL South.
Elsewhere in the southern categories, WCT Land scooped a Highly Commended accolade for Paradigm Residence. Unveiled in late 2019, the low-density property will feature, upon completion in 2022, 263 one- to three-bedroom freehold service suites ranging from 530 to 1,123 sq ft. Noteworthy amenities include a spacious poolside lounge, a 25-metre infinity pool, and a fully equipped gymnasium.
Situated just 10 minutes by car from JB City Centre, Paradigm Residence benefits from direct access to major highways, including the Skudai Highway, Pasir Gudang Highway, North-South Highway and Second Link Expressway. It is also conveniently located within reach of various amenities, including education, healthcare, popular attractions and the Senai International Airport.
The project is the latest residential addition to Paradigm JB, one of the largest real estate projects launched in Johor Bahru. The 13-acre integrated development comprises the seven-storey Paradigm Mall, which opened in 2017, as well as the under-construction Hyatt Place JB, a 200-room upscale hotel that will welcome its first guests in 2022.
