CTOS Introduces Tenant Screening Service For Property Agents And Landlords

CTOS Digital Sdn Bhd has introduced a tenant screening solution for property agents and landlords in Malaysia.

Dubbed CTOS Tenant Screening, the fully-digitised solution provides property agents and landlords with fast and accurate checks on potential tenants, leading to a more reliable application selection process, according to the credit reporting agency.

Dennis Martin, chief executive officer of CTOS Digital Sdn Bhd, which is CTOS Data Systems’ holding company, revealed that the CTOS Tenant Screening is the company’s latest move in bringing digital business solutions to more diverse industries in Malaysia.

“Tenant screening is common practice around the world that is starting to gain traction in Malaysia. As Malaysia’s largest credit reporting agency, with access to up-to-date and comprehensive datasets, we are pleased to make this service directly accessible to everyone,” he said as quoted by The Star.

With the digital platform, users can access tenant screening reports showing tenant applicant’s willingness and ability to pay bills on time. Consent to get the report can be done online, reported The Star.

The CTOS Tenant Screening reports also enable landlords to receive background checks such as financial checks, ID verification as well as legal cases and bankruptcy, if any.

The “know your customer” screening features politically exposed persons (PEPs) watch lists, enforcement watch lists, sanction watch lists as well as adverse media watch lists.

According to CTOS Digital, the screening red flags any pertinent information, reducing the risk of property damage, payment defaults and eviction hassles.

CTOS Digital is offering a 50% discount on the price of the CTS Tenant Screening report until 31 March. With the discount, a single report is offered at RM14.90, while a package of 10 reports is priced at RM125.
