Batu Caves

Batu Caves is a township  in Gombak district, Selangor. It is best known for its tourist attraction, the Batu Caves Temple. The township is next to Sentul, Selayang, Kepong and Gombak neighbourhoods.

Batu Caves is located next to the MRR2 and its strategic locality makes it easily accessible. Beside MRR2, Batu Caves can be accessed by Jalan Selayang, Jalan Gombak, Jalan Sentul and Jalan Kuching from city centre. It is also accessible by local bus line, taxis, e-hailing and KTM Komuter with stops at the KTM Batu Caves station, a short walk from the temple.

The Batu Caves area is a prominent industrial, commercial and services area, which make up the bulk of its economic activity. As such, there are plenty of industrial estate around Batu Caves area which include Sping Quest Industrial Park, Dolomite Industrial Park, Batu Caves Industrial Park and Bolton Industrial Park.

Schools within the vicinity of Batu Caves are SJKT Batu Caves,SJKC Kheow Bin Batu Caves, SK Taman Seri Gombak, SMK Hillcrest and SMK Seri Gombak.

There are several options when it comes to groceries and daily essentials as there are numerous markets, supermarkets, mini-markets and convenience stores within the neighbourhoods such as Pasar Malam Samudra, Uptown Sri Gombak, Pasar Malam Pinggiran Batu Caves and Pasar Taman Sri Gombak. There is 99 Speedmart and Rizky Mini Market available should you miss out on ingredients. Giant Hypermarket is the only hypermarket within vicinity and is the go to place for a wider range of products while Sri Ternak, NSK Trade City Selayang, Tesco Extra Selayang and Mydin in neighbouring Selayang offers a more affordable purchases.

When it comes to medical treatments, there are many clinics within vicinity of Batu Caves. The nearest hospital is Selayang Hospital, a short drive away. Alternatively, those from Batu Caves can head on to Kuala Lumpur General Hospital (KLGH) in the city centre for medical treatment.

As for recreation, within proximity of Batu Caves are several natural attraction, the closest being the Batu Caves Temple. Do attempt the 272 stairs up the shrine and enjoy the panoramic views. Some recommended food establishments here include Restoran ACHI Taste of India, Restoran Amutha, Restoran Lam Chye,MyRail Coffee Batu Caves and Sudu & Knife amongst others. Other alternative include Giant Food Court which offers a wide range of selection and not to forget, popular fast food brands like KFC, Texas Chicken and McDonalds.
