Kepong Baru is a small township located in Kepong , Kuala Lumpur . Situated in the north of Kuala Lumpur, Kepong Baru is surrounded by a mountain range. Kepong Baru enjoys good connectivity and has plenty of amenities.
In terms of transportation, Kepong Baru enjoys good, well maintained roads. It is easily accessible and well connected to its surrounding areas as well as to the other areas of Kuala Lumpur. Some of the major roads and highways that make Kepong Baru easily accessible are Jalan Lang Emas, Jalan Mergastua, Jalan Kepong Baru, Jalan Lingkaran Tengah 2, Lebuhraya Selayang – Kepong, and Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong. Busses passing through the main roads are quite reliable and one can also call a taxi anytime. There are two KTM stations just a short drive away as well: the Kepong KTM Station and the Kepong Sentral KTM Station. Given that Kepong Baru enjoys good roads and good connectivity, it is a township suitable not only for those who are working in this area, but also other parts of Kuala Lumpur.
Families with school going will be glad to know that there are numerous schools located in this township such as Kepong Baru National Secondary School, Taman Kepong Primary School, Sri Kepong Primary School, and Manjalara High School. Private schools that are in the area are The International School @ Parkcity, Mont’Kiara International School, the French School of Kuala Lumpur and IGB International School. Additionally, there is also ScholarHub Homeschool, a homeschool center, located in Kepong Baru. Kindergartens and child care centers are a plenty, such as Kiddy Smart House Pre-School & Nursery Educational Center. There are also tuition centers and other child development centers that cater to the community here.
There are numerous mini markets and grocery shops at Kepong Baru such as Kepong Mini Market and Redtick Supermarket @ North Kiara where groceries and basic necessities can be purchased. In addition to this, there is also the Kepong Baru morning market where fresh produce such as meat and vegetables are sold. For shopping needs, there is AEON Mall Metro Prima as well as Kepong Village Mall. A short drive (less than 20 minutes) will bring one to Publika Shopping Gallery, Sunway Putra Mall and one of the largest and most popular shopping malls in Malaysia: the 1 Utama Shopping Center. All these malls have a great number of retail outlets and food and beverage outlets.
Other amenities are also aplenty here at Kepong Baru. Restaurants and eateries in Kepong Baru offer the community here a wide array of food choices at affordable prices. Among the restaurants here are Xigong Seafood Restaurant which serves up delicious seafood dishes, Shui Yuan Vegetarian Court Restaurant which caters to vegetarians, Yee Wen Thai Food which specializes in authentic Thai cuisine and Popo Steamboat Restaurant. There are also fast food chains such as Subway and famous restaurant chains such as Secret Recipe in Kepong Baru. Other amenities in the area include clinics, pharmacies and places of worship. Most of the major banks in Malaysia have a branch located in Kepong Baru.
