Thus one can easily connect to the SILK Expressway in the south. With the north end of Jalan Aman Damai connecting to the East – West Link Expressway (Lebuhraya SALAK, E37) this allows residents of Taman Desa Cheras to travel from Taman Connaught in Cheras, to Seputeh, and Petaling Jaya. With the nearest MRT stations of Taman Connaught being approximately four kilometres away, residents can easily take a bus or taxi and use public transport to get to Sungai Buloh, Kajang, or to downtown Kuala Lumpur.
A number of parks around the area provide health and relaxation getaways from the hustle and bustle of city life, such as the nearby Taman Desa Cheras, The Park at Alam Dami, Bukit Angsana Park, and the Taman Eko-Rimba Sungai Besi for those interested in biking and hiking trails. Cafes to cater for a more upmarket environment number no less than 10 in this area, including Pistachio Kids Friendly Café, and Café Morsvel which are within walking distance. Malls offer both elite food and shopping bundled in a comfortable and merry environment, such as at the One South Street Mall, Cheras Sental Mall, Endah Parade, Amerin Mall, and The Mines Shopping Mall.
Parents have choices in terms of their children’s educational needs with the SMK Alam Damai within walking distance. Should international schools be preferred, then there are the Cempaka National Schools, Columbia International School and Beaconhouse Sri Murni. Choices of universities include the Asia Pacific University of Technology, University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), UCSI University, and International Medical University.
