Some might deem Selayang as unchartered territory. In fact, this vibrant and buzzing district is often torn in between Wilayah Persekutuan and Selangor. To avoid any confusion, here’s a brief note on the division and administration of Selayang:
“Most of Selayang is administered by Majlis Perbandaran Selayang (MPS). Part of the town that spills over into the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur is administered by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL, English: Kuala Lumpur City Hall).

The best way of getting here is by driving. If residents are heading from the east of Kuala Lumpur’s city centre, they can use Duta Ulu Kelang Highway (DUKE). From there, take Jalan Ipoh and head on to Jalan Kuching. This route will lead you here. Vega Suites can also be reached from the west part of Klang Valley through Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR) by heading towards Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Rawang. Meanwhile, those from the south side of KL can opt for Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2). Head on to Jalan Ipoh and later Jalan PS7.
The drive takes at least 30 minutes or so, depending on the traffic especially upon reaching Selayang. The traffic jams are indeed constant due to the high volume of vehicles on the road and of course, the absence of an immediate access to a light rail transit system (LRT).
