Kuala Lumpur, 10 June 2026 – KL Wellness City (KLWC) today proudly hosted a Send-Off Ceremony at the KL Wellness City Gallery to honour and celebrate Team KL Wellness City’s athletes who will be representing the nation at two prestigious international sporting events – the PUMA HYROX World Championships Stockholm, Sweden 2026 and Challenge Roth, Germany 2026.
The ceremony was graced by YB Tuan Mordi Anak Bimol, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, who officiated the event and extended his encouragement to the athletes as they prepared to compete on the global stage.

The PUMA HYROX World Championships Stockholm 2026, scheduled from 18 to 21 June 2026 at the Strawberry Arena, Sweden, will bring together elite HYROX athletes from around the world in the season finale of the 2025/2026 championship circuit. Meanwhile, Challenge Roth, one of the world’s most iconic long-distance triathlon events, will take place on 5 July 2026 in Roth, Germany.
About ten athletes from the KL Wellness City community will be flying the Malaysian flag at these international competitions, demonstrating exceptional dedication, discipline and perseverance in their sporting journeys.
The Team KL Wellness City contingent comprises athletes aged 25 to 70 with majority age above 50 years old, alongside experienced endurance sports enthusiasts who have successfully balanced demanding careers, personal commitments, and structured training regimes. Their participation is a remarkable reflection of lifelong dedication to health, fitness, and discipline. Rather than being defined by age, these athletes demonstrate that performance, resilience, and competitive spirit can be sustained across different stages of life. Their journey serves as an inspiring reminder that wellness is a lifelong pursuit, and they stand as proud ambassadors of Malaysia on the international endurance sports stage.
The Send-Off Ceremony is further supported by KL Wellness City’s strategic partners, including Vanilla Crepe, Kinohimitsu, COWA, O’Briens, Famous Amos, Anemos and SQL by EIST System, whose contributions are dedicated specifically to the organisation and hospitality elements of this occasion. The athletes’ journey has been strongly supported by KL Wellness City’s wellness-focused community, where regular training sessions, fitness activities and athlete meet-ups are organised to encourage active living, performance excellence and holistic well-being. A significant portion of HYROX-specific preparation has also been conducted at Pahlawan Gym, Citta Mall in Ara Damansara, which has played an important role in supporting and training many of our athletes in their build-up towards the HYROX World Championships. These initiatives reflect KL Wellness City’s ongoing commitment to building a lifestyle-driven wellness ecosystem beyond traditional healthcare.
Leading by example, Dato’ Sri Dr. Vincent Tiew, Executive Director of KL Wellness City, is an active advocate of wellness and endurance sports who regularly trains alongside members of the KL Wellness City fitness community. He has also been instrumental in fostering a culture of active living through regular training sessions, athlete meet-ups and wellness-driven community engagement initiatives. In 2026, he has so far completed HYROX races in Bangkok, Taipei and Singapore, alongside his participation in internationally renowned endurance triathlon events including Challenge Taiwan and Ironman Danang, VietnamHe is also set to compete in Challenge Roth, Germany 2026 and Challenge Malaysia 2026, scheduled to take place from 16 to 18 October 2026 at Forest City, Johor Bahru.
Through his personal sporting journey, Dato’ Sri Dr. Vincent Tiew embodies KL Wellness City’s belief that wellness should be lived and experienced, not merely promoted.
