The Cyberjaya New Masterplan, introduced by the tech hub developer Cyberview Sdn Bhd, is a strategic initiative designed to revitalize and elevate Cyberjaya into the nucleus of Malaysia's digital economy and a premier location for technology investment. This comprehensive urban strategy aims to create a holistic technology ecosystem, fostering innovation, and strengthening the city's position as a leading smart city. The masterplan is projected to contribute RM250 billion to the country's GDP and create 87,000 jobs by 2045.The new vision for Cyberjaya is centered on developing a thriving innovation and digital ecosystem. To achieve this, the masterplan focuses on three core technology clusters identified as the future pillars of the smart city: Smart Mobility, Smart Healthcare, and Digital Creative. These pillars will drive the development of emerging technologies, supported by a robust framework for Research, Development, and Commercialisation (R&D&C). The entire initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing a low-carbon, green city with smart infrastructure. To implement this vision, the 6,960-acre city has been divided into four distinct zones, each with a unique purpose to build a seamless value chain. A key goal of this structure is to solve the issue of entities working in silos, creating greater synergy across industries. Acting as the fundamental Innovation District, this zone will anchor the development of the three key tech clusters (Smart Mobility, Smart Healthcare, and Digital Creative). Focused on nurturing talent, this zone is dedicated to education and producing a skilled workforce to support the R&D and innovation efforts taking place in South Cyberjaya. It is home to institutions like Multimedia University and the Korean International School of Malaysia. Envisioned as a Global Business District where smart city solutions are implemented and utilized. This area will be served by two MRT stations, Cyberjaya North and Cyberjaya City Centre, enhancing its connectivity. This zone serves as the commercial and community hub, focusing on the practical deployment and integration of technology for both business and social activities. The masterplan for Cyberjaya North, a 40-hectare site, exemplifies the commitment to a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD). It is designed as a mixed-use development featuring residential, office, retail, hotel, and R&D spaces. A key feature is the planned network of sky streets, providing shaded, seamless pedestrian and cycle routes that connect buildings to the MRT station and a new retail hub. The city is strategically positioned with excellent accessibility, located midway between Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Kuala Lumpur City Centre via the Putrajaya-Cyberjaya Expressway.Cyberview Sdn Bhd, a government-owned company, is the tech hub developer entrusted with the mandate to spearhead Cyberjaya's development. Cyberview is responsible for implementing the new masterplan, developing the city's infrastructure, and strengthening its technology ecosystem. To assist investors, the Cyberjaya Investment & Services Centre (CISC) was established to provide end-to-end facilitation.
