Hi, my agent told me that the property which i am interested in is non-bumi lot and he wants me to pay earnest deposit. However, i am not very comfortable with it as i don't see any black and white stating that the unit is non-bumi lot. What document should i refer to prior paying him the earnest deposit?

Hi Meishun, the reference document is either the principal Sale & Purchase Agreement or the title deed to know the owner's name. Is the owner/seller a bumiputra? Verify with the developer of the project because it is usually not mentioned in the S&PA or the title deed whether it is a bumiputra lot or not. It is based on bumiputra quota and bumiputra discounted price and not any specific units that's why only the developer of the project will know.
