I am a singaporean n enquiring to purchasing a condo unit at the Hatten Cit Melaka.. I am getting a mix answers on the foreign buyers restriction. Are foreigners only allowed to buy residential condo at Melaka for more than Rm1million? Anything below is not allowed. Your expert advise please.

Hello Mr. Noor Jailaini, I am given to understand that the Federal Government had issued this policy effective 1st March 2014. However, States not under the Federal Government are at liberty to decide on the threshold policy. From what I know Melaka & some parts of Johor like Iskandar are still using above RM500k as the threshold. Certain approved projects like Medini in Johor has no threshold. It is best that you check with the developer that you are buying from or a lawyer that handles your purchase agreement.
