i have an appartment in KL which lease to an agent since 3 years. we are changing some of the term in the contract and the agent are requesting an commisions fee as if this a new contract..is this the standard in Malaysia? thank you for your answer

You did not mention "an commission fee" is how much? This is a world of win-win-win situation, you change some of the term in the contract, this is benefited the landlord & the tenant, of course the agent should deserve a small portion as servicing fee from doing the job for you. I mention here a "servicing fee", not "commission fee". Maklumat lanjut
