Mr. George, there is a schedule of Estate Agency fees in the Board of Valuers, Appraisers & Estate Agents, Malaysia website. All agencies are required to abide by this standard. Agents are allowed to charge a maximum of 3% but can agree with their client on a negotiated fee. It must be reasonable to both agents and clients. What is more important is that remuneration is sufficient to incentify an agent to provide the service and cover the expenses in providing the service before an effective sale can be achieved.
