Its location is near to perfection as it is located along the hidden routes of Jalan Ampang. With serenity and comfort as the main attractions, Damai Residence proves to be different in comparison to most developments that are bigger and higher in their stature. It promises low density population by having 31 units only. Damai Residence is such a rare gem especially in the heat of rapid development surrounding Jalan Ampang.

Project Details
In the rush of building bigger and taller condos and apartments, Damai Residence seems to defy the common trend. Staying true to the nature of Embassy Row, Damai Residence towers at only 20 storeys on a 0.514 acre of land.
The development can be seen clearly here as there are less high-rise developments around Lorong Damai Kiri and Jalan Damai
The architectural design aims to be minimalist and modern while depicting simplicity at its finest. Developments such as Damai Residence that has limited units projects exclusivity and of course, this sets it up as an enticing property to be owned due to its controlled availability. The development’s focal aim is to endorse low-density status while providing a homely atmosphere right at the edge of the city center.
Damai Residence is tucked neatly away in Lorong Damai 13 Kiri as it is located next to a few landed properties and another prestigious low-rise development, Damai 206 that is only 10 storeys high. There are a few schools located nearby, hardly obstructing Damai Residence’s view. Meanwhile, the landed properties here are mostly consist of vintage bungalows.
There are only 31 units that are up for grabs at Damai Residence. The best thing about the units that they come in similar shape and size. Buyers would have less of a headache in deciding which type would best suit them as all units offer the same sense of comfort and vibe.

Damai Residence is definitely gracious when it comes to space. Amplifying the need for greater space for a comfortable home is indeed a mantra that it firmly stands by. The standard size is at 1, 938 sq.ft. with 3+1 bedrooms. And there are only 30 units with such layout.
The rooms are extremely spacious and accommodative to the needs of the residents. Those with a family, the rooms here are indeed more than sufficient given the fact that its additional room can be converted into a maid’s quarters as it comes with its own bath. The kitchen is big as it is divided into a lifestyle kitchen and a functioning kitchen. There are four baths and these include the ones in the master bedroom and the utility room.

The specifications of Type A (Source http://www.tantan.com/wp-content/pdf/e-brochure/damai-residence-e-brochure.pdf)
Damai Residence should be receiving heaps of praise when it comes to providing the best layout for comfort. Each level is designed to have only two units that are the mirror image of each other. Due to such layout, the units here do not share walls. Besides that, residents will have their own private lift lobby. An extremely rare and exclusive perk to have.
The remaining one unit is the glorious penthouse. Sized at 3, 691 sq.ft., it has six bedrooms along with an utility room that is equipped with its own bath. Having the floor to itself, this makes the sole penthouse even more private and scarce.
Facilities here are at the minimum given the limited amount of space. Residents would still be able to enjoy the exercise facilities along with a 24-hour security. Besides that, there are four parking floors, as one unit will be receiving at least two car parks.
Location
Damai Residence is located along Lorong Damai 13 Kiri, right behind of AmpWalk. The development’s location is secluded but it is extremely well connected to the major roads around Kuala Lumpur.
The entrance to Lorong Damai 13 from Jalan Ampang Upon entering, take a left turn unto Lorong Damai 13 Kiri towards Damai Residence
Jalan Ampang is located along the entrance of Lorong Damai 13 and this would easily lead residents to the city center within less than ten minutes. Entry and exit points to AKLEH and DUKE are located within the vicinity. Residents can find the entry point of Plaza Tol Dato Keramat along Jalan Jelatek before entering AKLEH. For those heading to DUKE, residents can take Jalan Datuk Keramat and head on towards to Jalan Maktab. The entrance is right beside PULAPOL. Meanwhile, MRR2 is accessible via Jalan Ampang.
The folks here are slightly affected by the current construction of an elevated intersection that aims to mitigate vehicles between Jalan Ampang and Jalan Jelatek. The roads are now unrecognizable due to the heavy construction works. Commuters are given smaller alternative routes around the area that could lead to unwanted bottleneck jams. The construction is said to end by 2017.
There are other means of transportation around the area, though. Potential residents could walk on over or take a short drive to Jelatek LRT Station or even Ampang Park LRT Station. Taxis and RapidKL buses here are efficient. This could be another option to commute in and out of the area without the hassle of driving own transportation.
Damai Residence is extremely near to various essential amenities. You can never go wrong by residing here. The abundance amenities include:
- Gleneagles Intan Medical Center, Ampang via Jalan Ampang
- Prince Court Medical Centre, Kia Peng via Jalan Tun Razak
- Ampang Puteri Specialist, Ampang Hilir via MRR2
- HSC Medical Centre via Jalan Ampang

- Kuala Lumpur International Kindergarten via Jalan Madge
- Montessori The Children’s House via Jalan Ampang Hilir
- Sayfol International School, Ampang via Jalan Ampang
- Fairview International School, Wangsa Maju via Jalan Setiawangsa
- Taylor’s International School, Taman Maluri (formerly known as Sri Garden International School) via Jalan Tun Razak or Bulatan Pandan
Pasaraya Hock Choon is among the oldest grocery stores in Kuala Lumpur that offers the finest and imported produce from abroad
There are also various interesting gems that are scattered around the area. These hidden gems include:
- Pasaraya Hock Choon– This rather modest looking supermarket has been around for decades and it is among the oldest grocery stores in Kuala Lumpur. It has all the basic necessities as well as imported goods from far and wide. It might look rundown but the items sold here are imported and rare. The regular shoppers here aren’t your average shoppers too.
- AmpWalk– A rather small mall that is located a walk away from Damai Residence. It has couple of restaurants and bars such as Flora Café, Persia, Al-Musafir Restaurant, Jarrod & Rawlins, White Horse Tavern, Yellow Hat Café and Secret Recipe. It has the ever-convenient 7-Eleven and a massage parlor, Siam Bodyworks. Meanwhile, Irish pub, Healy’s Mac is located at The Nomad, right opposite of AmpWalk.
- Lorong Nibong’ s Little Secrets– People often overlook this little alley as it is tucked in between buildings along Jalan Ampang. Its secluded location might make it hard for people to find for it. Lorong Nibong surprisingly hosts a number of fine dining restaurants and even a Pilates studio. Among Lorong Nibong’ s little secrets are:
- Victoria Station- Among the legendary steak house chains in Kuala Lumpur. This particular branch even has a huge train replica in its restaurant.
- Sahara Tent- A famous Arab restaurant that is finding for regular customers along Lorong Nibong. Humongous and surprisingly less crowded.
- Terrace at Hock Choon- The ‘Terrace’ hosts a string of fine dining restaurants and bars. This includes IL Divo, Fukuharu, Berliner Stube, IR1968, The Balcony Bar & Grill, Poolside Bar, Single Malt Lounge and the Cigar Bar.
- Discovery Pilates Studio– To escape the hectic city lifestyle, health enthusiasts could just head on down to the studio for some Pilates sessions. What makes this studio a stand out is how serene the ambiance is especially in the wee mornings. A relaxation for both body and mind.
And of course, residents are not too far away from Kuala Lumpur’s key places of interest. Residents would take less than 20 minutes via car or trains to commute to these places that include:
- Suria KLCC– A must go destination of the area. Right unto AKLEH or even along Jalan Ampang, residents would be there within 10 minutes.
- Pavilion/Bukit Bintang/ Star Hill Gallery– The Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur. Many expats are infatuated by the location as it provides a diverse range of products and fashion trends, from streetwear to high-end brands.
- Berjaya Times Square– Another major shopping and entertainment outlet. It hosts a string of boutiques and retail chains as well as the largest indoor theme park in Malaysia.
- Menara Kuala Lumpur– A change of sight and scenery? Menara KL provides spectators a breath-taking view of Kuala Lumpur along with a gazetted forest called Kuala Lumpur Eco Park.
- Central Market (Pasar Seni)– The colours of Malaysia is brilliantly represented at Pasar Seni. The place offers various arts and crafts from all over Malaysia as well as food stalls with some local gastronomy delights.
On another note, the location’s entrance via Lorong Damai 13 is a bit small especially to accommodate high volume of vehicles that are commuting in and out of the area. Bear in mind that there are other residential properties such as The Nomad SuCasa and Damai 206 as well as folks from AmpWalk that will be using the same route as both entry and exit points to Jalan Ampang. Lorong Damai 13 Kiri’s lane is also in need of an expansion to accommodate the current and future vehicles.

Summary
Given its built as a low-density development, Damai Residence could be an option for folks who have the intention to live within the city realms but keen on spacious units. With standardised units, Damai Residence is going back to basics by catering to comfort, first and foremost instead of style or even having a long list of facilities. The units here are humongous and definitely scream comfortable. Besides that, privacy is another key element that comes into play at Damai Residence. By having two units on each floor along with a private lift lobby, these are major selling points in luring buyers to grab hold of a unit here.
