Due to lack of treated water, 45 areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur still experience unscheduled water disruption and low pressure.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) in a statement to Bernama said Taman Melati, Ampang Jaya, Desa Pandan, Jalan U-Thant and Setapak Jaya are among 512 areas which experienced unscheduled water disruption and low pressure since Monday.
“Unscheduled disruption of water supply and low pressure is due to reduced production of treated water by 137 million daily (MLD) from Phase 1 Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant and Phase 3 Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant by Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash).
“Reduction of water production from Phase 2 Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant managed by Puncak Niaga (M) Sdn Bhd also occurred due to a drop in the level of Sungai Selangor,” said Syabas.
In order to help speed up the recovery of water supply in the areas affected, Syabas insisted users to use water wisely.
