Mayang Mall is an upcoming freehold lifestyle fashion and food and beverage premier mall located in the heart of Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu along Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin and fronting the Seberang Takir waterways. Expected to complete in the first quarter of 2020, the development will be a retail and residential mixed-development and is expected to be the largest mall in the East Coast, only a kilometer away from Pasar Payang - the famous central market established in the 1960s. Mayang Mall is the brainchild of the real estate arm and wholly-owned subsidiary of Yayasan Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (YAHB), Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB). In August 2015, PHB entered into a Sale and Purchase Agreement with the State Government of Terengganu and the state government agency Lembaga Tabung Amanah Warisan Negeri Terengganu to acquire the parcel of commercial land in Kuala Terengganu specifically for this project. The mall is expected to attract investors and increase the economic status of the state. It was said that the development is expected to provide about 3,000 employment opportunities to the people of Terengganu.

Mayang Mall Accessibility and Amenities

Fronting Seberang Takir and located in the heart of Kuala Terengganu, Mayang Mall is easily accessible via Jambatan Angkat and the major route Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin that connects the greater Kuala Terengganu to Mayang Mall.

Mayang Mall Facilities and Project Details

Sited on 10.81 acre freehold land at Jalan Sultan Zainal Abidin, Kuala Terengganu will be PHB’s latest development of a mixed-use development. The project will be launched in two phases. Phase 1 will consist of a 15-storey serviced apartment block and a mall, with a net lettable area of 715,000 square feet. The block, which will sit on top of the mall, will be kept by PHB for recurring income. Tentative plan for Phase 2 will be a 16-storey hotel but final plans are not fixed as the developer is depending on market demand. Gross development value expected from the whole project is about RM900 million. Mayang Mall is a 6-storey shopping mall with 1,500 parking bays including a ballroom in the serviced apartment block.

SOGO KL, the anchor tenant, has been appointed to manage the mall operations so that the right retail mix according to the requirements of local residents and tourists alike can be achieved. There will be 300 retail units available for tenants comprising fashion outlets, a 8 screen cineplex, gourmet supermarket, wellness centre, food and beverage stalls, bookstore, a food court and other services. PHB will lease the entire mall to SOGO outright. SOGO will take up 150,000 square feet and bring about 280 tenants into Mayang Mall.

Mayang Mall Launching Details

April 2017, the real estate arm and wholly-owned subsidiary of Yayasan Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (YAHB), Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB) officially launched Mayang Mall in Kuala Terengganu and is expected to complete by 2020. The gross development value of the entire development is about RM900 million. When completed, the mall will be injected into Amanah Hartanah Bumiputera (AHB) and the net rental income will be distributed to the investing public. AHB is a shariah-compliant unit trust fund launched by the federal government in November 2010.
