Permas Jaya is a residential area in the suburb of Johor Bahru, Johor. Permas Jaya is near to  Kampung Baru Bakar Batu, Taman Sentosa and downtown Johor Bahru.

Permas Jaya is easily accessible by car, buses and taxis. And is connected by 2 bridges namely the Permas Jaya Bridge and Second Permas Jaya Bridge.

As a residential area, there are many amenities and facilities within Permas Jaya available for the community’s convenience, such as, banks, schools, supermarkets, eateries and more.

Permas Jaya is a popular residential area for middle class local Chinese and Singaporean professionals and a sizeable number of expatriate due to its strategic location between JB and Pasir Gudang area.

Schools near to Permas Jaya include SMK Permas Jaya,Sekolah Kebangsaan Permas Jaya 1,SJKT Permas Jaya and SMK Permas Jaya 2. There are also several international schools within vicinity such as REAL Schools, Johor Bahru Campus, Sri Utama Schools,Paragon International and Private School and Crescendo-HELP International School.

Permas Jaya is surrounded by numerous medical facilities such as Sultan Ismail Hospital, Specialist Women’s Hospital and Fertility Centre, JB Specialist Centre as well as many community clinics and private clinics to serve the community’s medical needs.

Within Permas Jaya are a number of recreational facilities for the community’s recreational use. There is also a golf course known as Permas Jaya Golf Club here. Other recreational facilities within vicinity include Dataran Permas and Permas Jaya Sports Complex which houses a host of sporting facilities including swimming pool that can be accessed by the general public while the Permas Jaya Sports Park is more for outdoor sports activities such as football. As for food, there are plenty of food options available within vicinity of Permas Jaya such as Chef Ong,Nijyumaru Japanese Restaurant,Restaurant Lemon Tree Permas Jaya, Honbin Seafood Restaurant and One Two Eat Café.

For groceries and daily essentials, the community should head to Chah Ya Trading, Econsave Permas Jaya,Pasaraya Yong Sian and Kedai Runcit Hong Rid while the Korean Family Market stocks an array of Korean food products. There is also a Pasar Malam that operates everyday where the community can go for cheap food, fresh produces and other knick knacks. There is also a Giant not too far away in Johor Jaya area. When it comes to shopping, there are AEON Permas Jaya Shopping Centre which is a popular go to mall for the community. There are also some retail shops at Permas Centro commercial area. Further towards the city centre are plenty of shopping malls such as KSL City Mall and Johor Bahru City Square.

There are also several places of worship available to serve the community’s religious needs such as Surau Al-Ansar, Calvary City Church Permas Jaya,Prasie Baptist Church,Evangel Christian Assembly and Chen-Li Presbyterian Church. Of course, within close proximity are many Chinese and Indian temples.
