Majlis Perbandaran Kajang

The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) was officially established on 1st. January 1997. Prior to upgrading the Municipality, MPKj is known as the Hulu Langat District Council which has been in operation since the 1st. January 1986 under Act 171, Local Government Act 1976. Its administrative area covers Mukim of Kajang, Mukim Cheras, Mukim Semenyih, Mukim Beranang & Mukim of Hulu Langat. The rationale, the establishment of MPKj is a dynamic Local Authority where it can plan and develop Kajang area rapidly and regularly. This is due to the growing population of Kajang Mukim which is growing rapidly from year to year. The Kajang Municipal Council now has a network of small offices / offices located at Bandar Tun Hussein Onn Cheras and Jalan Reko Kajang Hentian. The administrative area of ??the Kajang Municipal Council is 78,761 hectares (787.61 sq km).
