Gamuda Land Strengthens Education Offerings at Gamuda Gardens with UCSI University Partnership
GAMUDA GARDENS, Selangor – Gamuda Land and UCSI University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a new campus within its 1,342-acre Gamuda Gardens township.
Designed to accommodate around 2,000 students, the campus has an initial operational capacity of 66,000 ft2. It houses 45 classrooms, a multipurpose hall, indoor basketball courts, as well as other learning and recreational facilities.
UCSI’s satellite campus will offer undergraduate programmes in business and management, creative arts, computer science, as well as EV and autonomous mobility. Diploma and foundation programmes will also be offered.
The campus is expected to be launched in Jan 2027 and students will benefit from other sports and recreational amenities within Gamuda Gardens. Plans are also afoot to build a 6,000-capacity campus, situated on a six-acre site and targeted for completion in 2031.
Gim Teck Yew, Chief Executive Officer of Gamuda Land, who was present at the ceremony said: “The addition of UCSI University reflects the continued evolution of Gamuda Gardens as a mature and integrated township. Education has always been a key component of our masterplan, alongside homes, parks, commercial offerings and community spaces. Integrating UCSI University – a top 30 university in Asia – into Gamuda Gardens create a more complete township that supports long-term community growth and economic vitality.”
UCSI president and vice-chancellor Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir said that the upcoming campus would be a welcome addition to UCSI’s existing campuses in Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Springhill and Bangladesh.
“We look forward to the launch of UCSI’s fifth campus and we are glad to partner with Gamuda Land in this effort,” she said. “Both parties recognise the need to provide quality higher education offerings in Rawang and the Northern Klang Valley corridor.
“UCSI has always empowered local communities and improved life chances through accessible high-quality education. We look forward to achieving the same impact here and we will offer more programmes as the campus grows organically.
She added that the announcement of UCSI’s fifth campus coincided nicely with the University’s 40th anniversary celebrations.

Strategic Partnerships Driving Long-Term Value Creation

The collaboration with UCSI University builds on Gamuda Land’s ongoing partnership with leading Malaysian education providers, forming a clear pathway from K-12 to tertiary education.
This reflects Gamuda Land’s broader intentional approach to township development, where partnerships with established institutions and organisations are introduced early to meet future demand.
By anchoring reputable education providers within the township, Gamuda Land enhances convenience for residents while reinforcing long-term value creation — supporting property appreciation, strengthening rental demand, and encouraging business activity within the surrounding areas.

Addressing a Growing Demand in Northern Klang Valley

The introduction of UCSI University addresses a key gap in the Northern Klang Valley corridor, where a growing residential population is supported by a growing base of young families and school-going demographics, reflecting increasing demand for accessible tertiary education options closer to home.
UCSI University, ranked among Asia’s top 30 universities and eighth in Southeast Asia in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, has also remained within the top 1% of universities globally for four consecutive years. Its presence within Gamuda Gardens further strengthens the township’s education offerings and reinforces its positioning as a growing education and lifestyle hub in the Northern Klang Valley corridor.

Catalysing Commercial Activity and Township Maturity

The university is expected to introduce a steady student population, contributing to increased demand for retail, services, and lifestyle offerings within the township.
Students and faculty will have direct access to Gardens Square and the upcoming Atrium retail-tainment development, strengthening the township’s commercial offerings and supporting day-to-day convenience.
In tandem, Gamuda Land is planning future residential components, including high-rise residences and serviced apartments, to cater to students, faculty, and young professionals. This reflects a mindful masterplan approach, where residential, commercial, and institutional components are developed in parallel to ensure long-term relevance and sustainability.

A Future-Ready Township Built on Early Investment

As Gamuda Gardens continues to mature, Gamuda Land remains focused on proactive investments into infrastructure and amenities through partnerships across education, lifestyle, and business sectors.
This ensures that key components of a thriving township are introduced ahead of demand, creating resilient, self-sustaining communities that deliver enduring value for residents, businesses, and stakeholders.
