When using PropertyGuru, agent profiles displaying a "Verified Agent" badge have undergone our official verification process.
💡Note: While no system is perfect, the "Verified Agent" badge is designed to minimize the risk of fraud, reduce unprofessional interactions, and make property transactions more secure and trustworthy for everyone on our platform.
Why we verify agents
- 🔒 Trust and safety– So you can feel more secure when interacting with agents.
- 🔎 Better search experience– You can use our search filter to find Verified Agents.
- 🪪 Verified information– Real Estate Negotiator (REN), Real Estate Agent (REA), Probationary Estate Agent (PEA) Number, identity, and agent details are verified by us.
- 🚨 Report option– You can report distrustful agents for misconduct.*
💡Note: *Reported agents will undergo thorough investigation. If found responsible for untrustworthy pracitces, they will be blacklisted from our platform.
How do we verify agents
- 🪪 Agents must complete the eKYC process by filling in their details, uploading their MyKad (front & back), taking a selfie, and submitting their REN certificate or employment letter.
- 📂 Submit Verified Agent verification: REA/ REN/ PEA & Phone Number Verification. Agent REN number will be automatically matched and verified against LPPEH records. Then, LPPEH-registered phone numbers will be verified via OTP.
- 👍Details confirmation– Agents must then confirm their details are accurate and acknowledge the Verified Agent terms.
- ✅ Approval– Agents will be notified once your verification has been completed. And their profile and listings will display the Verified Agent badge
What information we request from Agents
- 👤 Legal name, billing address, mobile number & email
- 🪪 Digital copy of your MyKad (front & back)
- 🤳 Selfie with MyKad
- 👩💼👨💼Agent info: Agency name & LPPEH License number
