The regional flood mitigation projects affecting Jalan Haji Sirat are already underway, progressing in several implementation phases. Because this road corridor is linked to a wider network of rivers and drains connecting Kapar, Meru, and Bandar Bukit Raja, the programme is being delivered through a mix of short-term emergency works and longer-term federal initiatives:

Project Timeline & Start Dates

• Urgent Drainage Upgrades (Started Mid-2025): The Selangor State Government and the Klang Royal City Council (MBDK) rolled out 17 high-priority drainage projects across 13 key Klang hotspots (including nearby Meru and Kapar). On-the-ground works such as drain widening and culvert replacements began immediately to ease local flooding impacts.
• Long-Term Regional Mitigation (Ongoing through 2030): The broader infrastructure plan, including the RM144 million MBDK Flood Mitigation Action Plan (KLASS 2025–2030), together with federal structural projects for the Sungai Kapar network, is being implemented step-by-step over a multi-year horizon.
• Bukit Raja Drainage Upgrades (Under Review/Design Phase): As of October 2026, the Selangor state government, working with relevant federal agencies, is finalizing technical assessments and expanding budgets (including the RM40 million allocation for the Bukit Raja network) to introduce new retention ponds and drainage routes feeding out of the Jalan Haji Sirat corridor.
