4 Smart (And Sly) Ways To Hide Household Imperfections
A liveable, comfy home can sometimes present us with a few, minor visual blemishes. Essentials like trash cans, routers, and cabling, etc. does not always make for a pretty picture.
And even as we learn to embrace imperfections in the home, there are times when hiding them becomes a better option.
Here are just four clever and sneaky ways to smoothly conceal typical household blots:

1) Trash Cans

The sight of overflowing bins in general is not the most appealing thing, but yet you can’t do without their practical usefulness.
What you can do instead is find a way to conceal your bins in plain view. Consider placing bins in storage spaces under your sink, if you have any.
If you have a pedestal sink, why not install a ready-made under-sink storage unit, which you can find at IKEA or other local home stores.
If you have a slightly bigger budget, then you could try installing pull-out trash cans in your cabinets. These will effectively hide your trash cans and moreover, is very convenient to use.

2) Entertainment Sets

Television sets, speakers, gaming consoles, etc can quickly become a decorative nightmare. Why not conceal them in a chic manner: by putting up a feature wall!
Since most TVs are designated in living rooms, a feature wall can double as a décor element as well as a practical entertainment console.
What’s more, feature walls can be fully customised with sliding panels, additional hidden storage, ergonomic cable holes, and concealed power outlets for an eyesore-free setup.

3) Tangled Wires

Oh, the messy web of wires, cords and cables are incredibly unsightly and makes for a cluttered, untidy appearance.
Not to mention the fact that they can pose a dangerous hazard to children/pets AND be a right royal pain to clean around.
But even as some electronics go wireless, it’s unlikely that we’ll see the end of wires in the near future. Thankfully, there are plenty of effective ways to conceal the mess.
For a neater appearance with very little effort required, tie longer cords that are easy to bunch and tangle with reusable Velcro tape or plastic self-locking fasteners; available at any hardware store.
You can also attach small hooks behind your cabinet or desk to hang the bunched wires; you can get a nice matching set of them from IKEA, or any hardware store.
Finally, you can even place plugs, outlets, and even routers into decorative boxes with holes punched in the back, to keep them camouflaged.

4) Pet Accessories

If you’re a pet lover, there’s a good chance that you house quite a number of pets supplies and accessories.
Often, these items like cat scratching poles, food dispensers or bowls, litter boxes, pet beds, and toys, etc won’t gel nicely with your décor.
But you don’t have to sacrifice style and comfort of your home, when you can easily conceal pet essentials, or make their accessories part of your home décor.
You could try to DIY some simple wooden planks to the walls to keep the items off the floors, which can also double as platforms for your feline friends.
Or, if canines are your cup of tea, you could just invest in creating some clever hidden storage solutions under your bed to safely stash your buddy’s stuff away until it’s needed again.
