Damansara is a suburb in Petaling Jaya, a Mukim in Petaling District, as well as a parliamentary constituency in Selangor. Selangor is one of the 13 states in Malaysia located on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The Straits of Melaka is to its west while it is bordered by Perak, Pahang and Negeri Sembilan. It is one of the most densely populated areas in Malaysia. Damansara was originally a small harbour-like settlement that was located near the mouth of the Damansara River along the Klang River.

Damansara area is home to several townships, including Damansara Impian, Damansara Kim, Damansara Utama, Damansara Jaya and Ara Damansara, thus ample amenities that are easily accessible. Besides that, the uptown commercial area, which houses the Malaysian branch of several multi-national companies like Orisoft Technology Sdn Bhd and Servier (M) Sdn Bhd are located in Damansara Utama. Damansara is highly accessible by major highways such as Sprint (Damansara Link), Lebuhraya Damansara –Puchong (LDP) and Damansara –Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH).

Damansara has been dubbed the “Golden Triangle” of Petaling Jaya. Amenities are aplenty nearby. There are many parks in close proximity that is a great place for nature lovers and those who are fitness conscious to go to, like Ara Damansara Eco Park and Kota Damansara Community Forest Reserve as there are plenty of activities that they can do there. They can cycle, jog or even walk around the area.

Commercially, Damansara is positioned to do well, boasting a Tesco outlet, IPC Shopping Centre, One Utama, the largest IKEA outlet in Southeast Asia and The Curve shopping complex, all of them located within a stone’s throw of each other. One of the biggest advantages for families is the schools that are located nearby, like Asia Pacific Schools, Sri Kuala Lumpur, Sunway International School, Sri KDU Schools and SMK Damansara Utama which are easily accessible to the residents in the neighbourhood. The nightlife is also blooming in this affluent and trendy neighbourhood with clubs like DK Club Kota Damansara, HYDE at 53M, Three Stooges Bar, Tom, Dick & Harry’s, Oasis Square and Kisses Pub & Bistro all located just within a few minutes’ drive. In-case of medical emergency, Ara Damansara Mediviron Clinic (Dr Patrick), The Clinic @ Ara Damansara, Klinik Ng & Ho, Klinik Alam Medic and Klinik Mediviron Pacific Place 24 Jam (24 hours Clinic) are all located close by. There are many places of worship in the surrounding area for the convenience of those living around the area. They are Kingdomcity Kuala Lumpur Bandar Sunway, TTDI Jaya Darbar Sahib, Surau Temasya, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple and Yuen Leong Sing Fatt Temple.
