Kajang and Semenyih are the upcoming suburb located on the outskirts of the Greater KL. It is situated approximately 25 kilometres away southeast of Kuala Lumpur, with Putrajaya approximately 18 kilometres away and Seremban at 45 kilometres away. Residents also enjoy accessibility to popular nearby towns such as Cheras, Bandar Baru Bangi, Seri Kembangan and Semenyih.

Being a rising town with a multitude of new developments, Kajang and Semenyih have a decent array of amenities with more on the way. Already existing in the township are shopping complexes and hypermarkets. The latter comprises of Kiara Mall, Kiara Business Centre, Semenyih Entertainment Hub, Metro Point and Metro Plaza Kajang, while the latter also includes Billion Supermarket, Tesco and Giant around Kajang & Semenyih.
The latest addition of shopping mall to Kajang is De Centrum Mall which was reported to be packed on the day of its opening, especially its supermarket Super Seven which is believed to be a sister company of the NSK hypermarket. As part of the De Centrum City masterplan, the shopping mall is expected to do very well being surrounded by offices, a university and serviced residences.
Traditional Malay compact glutinous rice called Ketupat, great for eating with satay
The other entertainment options include eating out, as Kajang is famous for its satay – marinated boneless pieces of meat stuck onto sticks and then barbecued upon red hot charcoal. While satay is available all over Malaysia, it is said that it originated from the town of Kajang – where the best satay still remains.
Food aside, Kajang also offers a complete living lifestyle with medical facilities, education centres, and even a sports stadium.
The Kajang Stadium is close to Courts Mammoth, where visitors to the stadium occasionally park their cars at the furniture mall to walk over. The Kajang Stadium is popular among locals for hanging out in the evening, where they are fond of cycling, jogging and kite flying. The only complaints of this stadium is its lack of parking space and the narrow roads once the crowd starts coming in.
Aside from recreational activities, Kajang also hosts a generous number of medical institutions from clinics to specialist centres and hospitals. The local hospital is the Kajang Hospital located along the main trunk road of Jalan Semenyih, while the specialist centre comprises of the KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital along the main road of Jalan Cheras. For more options, the Serdang General Hospital is less than half an hour away from Kajang and Semenyih under clear traffic conditions.
Kajang is also a haven to golfers with its nature and greenery. The Kajang Hill Golf Club comes highly recommended as a great golf course, and a short drive to the next town is the Bangi Golf Resort. Family entertainment in form of the Kajang Fun Fair is also occasionally available.
With Kajang expected to be the next boom town, it is highly expected that more businesses will be making their way to this town. With the increased number of public transportation being built in the town, it is also anticipated that KL-ites may be visiting Kajang more frequently in the future.
