Getting Around KLCC

Getting Around KL City Centre

Kuala Lumpur has some notoriously challenging traffic at times, which means getting around KL City Centre (KLCC) is an important consideration when it comes to making your property decisions.

KLCC benefits from a well-designed and considered approach when it comes to connectivity, with accessibility being a central part of the development of the area.

Thanks to the help of some extremely good public transport connectivity, and major roads connecting to highways throughout the city, that question of connectivity offers a more positive answer than some people might imagine

By Road

KLCC sits at the centre of a web of great highways that connect the area with the wider Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley region.

Jalan Ampang

Jalan Ampang

Jalan Ampang provides ease of travel to join the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), as well as further connectivity to major highways such as the Maju Expressway (MEX) and Jalan Sultan Ismail. It also connects onwards to the impressive Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel (SMART) Highway, an engineering triumph that combines Southeast Asia’s longest stormwater drainage tunnel with a state-of-the-art highway to allow seamless travel throughout central Kuala Lumpur during flooding.

Public parking is also a benefit of the KLCC area, with underground parking bays for Suria KLCC directly accessed through tunnels from Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ampang and from AKLEH.

By Public Transport

KLCC LRT Station is the functional public transport hub of Kuala Lumpur City Centre, located in the basement of the Avenue K shopping centre. It provides convenient access to the Kelana Jaya Line, which runs over 46 km from Gombak in the north to Putra Heights in the south.

The Kelana Jaya Line also benefits from direct links through to KL Sentral, meaning a simple connection to both the KLIA Ekspres to Kuala Lumpur International Airport, as well as major regional and national train connections.

The ground level of KLCC LRT Station also serves as a hub for Rapid KL Buses, providing convenient links throughout Kuala Lumpur and the wider area. A taxi rank can also be found at the station.

KLCC East MRT Station is a station currently under construction, and is just a short walk from the hub at KLCC LRT. Once complete, KLCC East MRT Station will offer onward travel via the Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line (SSP Line) from Damansara Damai through to Putrajaya Sentral.

By Foot

Walking is arguably an unconventional way to get around KL, but it’s a mode of transport that’s particularly well suited for KLCC. With its modern, purpose-built design and layout, KLCC is perhaps the easiest part of Kuala Lumpur to traverse by foot.

The KLCC – Bukit Bintang Walkway adds another element of convenience to walking in and around KLCC, providing over a kilometer of covered walkway that links up Suria KLCC via KLCC Convention Centre with Bukit Bintang through the fantastic Pavilion KL mall.

By Air

KLIA

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is Malaysia’s busiest aviation transport hub, and easily accessed from KLCC via public transport connecting KLCC LRT Station with the KLIA Ekspres at KL Sentral.

KLIA can also be reached by car or taxi in little over an hour, depending on traffic, with convenient onward links to the Maju Expressway making for a simple route between the downtown area and the airport.
