Sri Hartamas is a beautiful and quiet suburb located in a coveted and upscale area. It is the neighbourhood of choice for expats and locals looking for an expat-oriented home in Malaysia. Sri Hartamas enjoys great accessibility, and houses amenities that cater mainly to expatriates. It is a neighbourhood that attracts both locals and expatriates alike to build their homes and families at, for its robust lifestyle.

The main hub of Sri Hartamas is the neighbourhood Sri Hartamas Shopping Centre – a self sustaining hub of food, entertainment and daily necessities. Boutique shops can be found here, along with many popular al fresco eateries and food hubs.

Some of the local favourite F&B franchises that are located at the Sri Hartamas Shopping Centre are Rakuzen, the ever popular Starbucks, the Grand Imperial Restaurant and The Meat Experts.

The supermarket in Hartamas Shopping Centre is the Mercato Market Place, the ideal supermarket that caters to both locals and foreigners – and is popular for supplying hard-to-find imported goods and sauces in the Klang Valley.

Just across the road is Desa Sri Hartamas, a commercial square that is akin to an extension of the Sri Hartamas Shopping Centre. It offers a different variety of businesses, and an entirely different myriad of lifestyle; be it food, entertainment or leisure.

In fact, it can be said that a huge concentration of international cuisine in the Klang Valley can be found mainly around the Desa Sri Hartamas area. The happening and fun-filled Naughty Nuri’s in Desa Sri Hartamas is a favourite for locals to have dinner, while the Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant here is often frequented by Koreans in Malaysia who are looking for a taste of home. But Desa Sri Hartamas is not only about its food, it is also home to costume shops, bars, massage parlours, childcare centres and a variety of other interesting amenities.

Also only a short distance away is the Publika Shopping Mall, yet another entertainment hotspot that is unique for its artistic ambience that emphasises on creativity and lifestyle. At a glimpse, the clothing boutique at Publika mainly offers designer clothes only, while the weekend flea market in Publika has a wide array of handmade goods as well as children art activities.

But in true keeping with their artistic concepts, Publika also has exhibition spaces in form of the White Box. This space is popular for hosting art events and creative forums.

While the mall’s layout is rewardingly adventurous for those unfamiliar with the mall, once used to it, visitors will find that the majority of the shops at this mall comprises of al fresco dining and pubs. Restaurants like The Bee, Tryst Cafe, Ante and Nathalie’s Gourmet Studio are only among some of the more popular ones. There are also coffee shops, dessert cafes, and various other offerings that can be found aplenty at Publika.

Already a rather self-sufficient neighbourhood, Hartamas is seeing another new development coming up nearby – the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre that is surrounded by government buildings such as the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation, and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
