Pulau Tikus is a north-western suburb of Georgetown in Penang. Situated between the city centre and Tanjung Tokong, this upper class suburb was named after a small rocky island shaped like a mouse, located about 770 metres off the Tanjung Bungah suburb. Despite its name, the area is considered one of the “upper class” neighbourhoods with its fair share of mansions, bungalows and colonial buildings, and many high-end condominiums, such as those along Gurney Drive. Aside from that Rapid Penang’s routes 101, 102, 103, 104 and 304 connect Pulau Tikus with Georgetown proper, as well as other destinations on Penang Island, including the Penang International Airport, Queensbay Mall, Batu Ferringhi and Teluk Bahang. There are many tourist attractions located near Pulau Tikus which are worth visiting. The places of worship are Soka Gakkai Malaysia Penang Centre, St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Penang, Nattukkottai Chettiar Temple Penang, Masjid Jamek Al-Munawwar and Wadda Gurdwara.
