Over RM26 million transacted at HomeGuru's Malaysia Property Showcase 2011

SINGAPORE, 7 December 2011: Over RM26 million worth of property was snapped up by Singaporean property buyers at HomeGuru's inaugural Malaysia Property Showcase recently. The event, which was held at the Orchard Hotel, Singapore on the 3rd and 4th of December 2011, drew an impressive crowd of almost 900 property buyers and saw more than 30 units of real estate sold within the two days.

The Malaysia Property Showcase 2011 involved the participation of six leading Malaysian developers, namely Andaman Group, Ireka Corporation Berhad, Lone Pine Group, Sime Darby Property, The Haven Sdn Bhd and UEM Land.

PropertyGuru Group CEO, Steve Melhuish said, "In collaboration with its Singaporean counterpart, PropertyGuru.com.sg, HomeGuru established the Malaysia Property Showcase 2011 to create awareness of key Malaysian developments regionally, especially amongst interested investors in Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Thailand."

Melhuish stated that the Malaysia Property Showcase 2011 served its function as an optimal platform for the participating developers to network amongst each other and with prospective international investors. He added that excited visitors even came to attend the event half an hour earlier than the event's official kick-off time on its first day.

Noting on the success of the Malaysia Property Showcase 2011, Head of Sales and Marketing at Andaman Group Dato' Vincent Tiew said, "Seeing the commitment and capabilities of the PropertyGuru Group in attracting large crowds is testament of the Malaysia Property Showcase 2011's success and we are very inclined towards participating in future showcases with the PropertyGuru Group at the helm."

General Manager for Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Lone Pine Group Mabel Ooi also commented, "The event was a good experience, giving us positive exposure and the opportunity to meet Singaporean buyers. We also got to meet local property agents, which helped us build relationships."

Developments featured at the Malaysia Property Showcase 2011 were The Arc @ Cyberjaya by Andaman Group, Isola @ Subang by Sime Darby Property, 1 Tanjong in Penang by Lone Pine Group, The Haven in Ipoh by The Haven Sdn Bhd, SENI Mont' Kiara by Ireka Corporation Berhad as well as Impiana @ East Ledang and Imperia @ Puteri Harbour by UEM Land.

Additionally, the Malaysia Property Showcase 2011 included informative seminars such as ‘Intricacies of Property Financing in Malaysia' by Adrian Un (MD, Mortgage Broker Sdn Bhd), ‘Property Investment: Mortgage and Grow Rich' by Alfred Chia (CEO, SingCapital), ‘Investment Outlook in Iskandar' by Azwah Mohd Noor (SVP, Iskandar Regional Development Authority), ‘Legalities for Foreign Property Investors to Malaysia' by Samuel Seow and his Malaysian associates (Seow & Associates).

The Malaysia Property Showcase 2011 also received positive feedback from members of the public who were in attendance, such as Vinh Doan who said that it was "very informative and well-organised" as well as Dennis Sim, who commended the PropertyGuru Group for providing up-to-date information relevant to Singaporean investors.
