Sheldon Fernandez Brings 13 Years Of Online & Sales Leadership
Sheldon Fernandez has been appointed as the new country manager who will now helm PropertyGuru Malaysia.
Sheldon brings over 13 years of online and sales leadership experience to PropertyGuru, having honed his experience with general management roles in Adecco, Nextel Communications, Marcus Evans and most recently, JobsDB in Singapore and Malaysia.
“Sheldon has strong online product knowledge and a stellar track record for coaching, developing and increasing the performance of the teams under his leadership.

Sheldon will be reporting directly to the CEO, and will be responsible for all of Malaysia’s sales, partnership activities and will be the key representative for PropertyGuru in Malaysia.
“I am excited to be joining such a strong team at PropertyGuru Malaysia, which has brought the business to become the market leader in Southeast Asia in such a short period of time. My prime focus will be with our customers and to coach the team to continue our journey of success,” said Sheldon.
Over the last four years, PropertyGuru has grown rapidly in Malaysia to more than 4,500 paying agents in their database currently. Active property listings on the Malaysian portal increased from 60,000 to 370,000 in the last two years alone.
Traffic had grown from 700,000 to 1.8 million monthly in the same period. Over 40% of PropertyGuru users are unique and do not use other portals for their property search.
Mobile traffic has also increased, making up more than 38% of total traffic. PropertyGuru Group has the most popular suite of property search apps in the industry with 2.5 million downloads on the PropertyGuru Mobile App.
PropertyGuru has also just recently announced the powering of Maybank’s mobile property finder app. The app, launched on April 15, aims to help prospective buyers search for properties either for residential, investment, or business, within their preferred location or price range that suits their financial profile.
“We have been working with Maybank, the biggest bank in Malaysia to make our property content available to their 9 million customers,” said Melhuish.
Other updates include the launch of a brand new look and feel website, property price trends, new mortgage calculators, tools and comparison engine in Malaysia.
