Damansara Damai, once a low-profile and tranquil neighbourhood perched in the northernmost part of Petaling Jaya, due to its address being Jalan PJU 10/1A (which stands for Petaling Jaya Utara), is also being invaded by other high-rise developments such as Sphere Damansara, which share the same access road and address with The ZIZZ at Damansara North.

 

Once these developments are completed, the population count in the area will be well over 100,000. There are four major highways that link Damansara Damai to the rest of Klang Valley. There’s the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP), SPRINT Expressway and Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) and the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR).

 

The ZIZZ at Damansara Damai, compared to existing condominiums in the vicinity such as One Damansara and Armanee Condominium, faces a major and traffic-heavy highway called the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR). On the other side of the highway is Taman Perindustrian KIP, Kepong. Those who are travelling from Petaling Jaya or Puchong can take the LDP to get there, and folks who are working in the city centre can reach there via the NKVE in 24 minutes.

 

Due to high traffic volume in Damansara Damai and its surrounding areas during peak hours, future residents should expect bumper to bumper traffic and unforeseen delays due to unexpected breakdowns of heavy vehicles along LATAR, known to be frequented by lorries.

 

Why are people beginning to pay attention?

 

Damansara Damai is a mere 15-minute drive away from other more established neighbourhoods such as Desa Parkcity, Bandar Sri Damansara, and Damansara Perdana, which have experienced exponential growth in terms of property developments, prices and population.

According to one source, three developers in the Damansara Damai area, namely Jaya Megah Building & Engineering Sdn Bhd, MK Land Holdings Berhad and Asian Pac Holdings Berhad, have plans to join forces to propose four new road extensions with Majlis Perbandaran Petaling Jaya (MPPJ). The first two proposals consist of a flyover, which will begin at Prima Damansara, cut across the MRR2, and divert traffic towards Kepong, and away from the U-turn at the traffic lights, which is currently the only access road leading into the neighbourhood. The second one will be a back road leading from Damansara Damai right up to Bandar Sri Damansara, where Sutera Damansara is located.
