Sungai Ara is a small residential township located in Georgetown, Penang. It neighbors Bayan Lepas and borders Relau. Penang International Airport is a short drive away.

It was previously an agricultural area to which the original village still stands today. The area was converted into a residential township in following the development of the adjacent Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone in the 70s.
