Hi Guru, I am staying in a condo, the condo management is using the community “Jagaapp” as communication channel. The management is required resident to pre-register all visitors via the app or physically go to Management office to fill up form. It required resident to provide visitor name / NRIC / Vechical Number / Date & Time. The visitor is not allowed to come in without pre registration despite they give NRIC to the security guard. Residents have to ask the visitor for full name / NRIC etc to input to the app and submit then only the guard let the visitor come in. If the app is not functioning, management insisted residents to walk to the management office to fill the paper form. Can I ask is it legal for resident to ask visitors NRIC / Name and it is not agains Data Privacy Act? And the management office staff unable explain as. to why not the guards just intercom the unit to confirm visitors instead insist filling up information?
