Hi, I bought a condo unit at Danga Bay called Tropez Residences end of last year. Was told by agent that only bumi lots were left but shouldn't have any trouble converting to international plot. Just received a call from agent asking for 6% top up fee for the conversion. Says it's actually 7.5% but developer will absorb 1.5%. Of course, we have the option to walk away from it and get full refund but now that its market value has risen, it's not the solution. Would like to seek advice on whether such practice is common and whether the state of Johor has indeed introduced a conversion fee for bumi plot. Any other advice on the best course of action moving forward is much appreciated.
