Hi, i signed the SPA for a service apartment on Nov 2015. The construction has just started at the time of the signing. Recently, i found out that the service apartment is a bumi lot. This important information was not disclosed to me by the agent and the developer when I asked them previously. Now i want to cancel the purchase but the developer insisted the deposit will be forfeited and a certain amount of money have to be paid to developer's lawyer as penalty fee. Is it right for the developer to impose such ruling? Isn't it wrong on the developer to sell the service apartment lot to me, a non-bumi when the lot is a bumi lot? What is my rights in this case? Thank you for your advice.
