Hi. I was looking for a rental house and found an agent. He said there’s a house with rm1200 per month rental. Then, he said the total deposit will be rm4000. Later i paid a booking fee of rm1600. After few days he called and said the agreement is ready and i agreed to meet him the next day. Before ending the call I told him that “ that day I already paid you rm1600 and now the balance is which is rm2400 i will pay you once signing the agreement”. Then, he said i must pay rm2400 + rm1200 total rm3600 even though the other day he said that the total will only rm4000.

My question is can i request for refund and report him for false information? Because clearly he sent me a message saying that the total deposit will be rm4000.
