Hi I'm a singaporean and my wife is a malaysian (singapore PR). We have purchased a BTO flat in singapore which will MOP sometime in 2030. We are looking to purchase a commercial property in Ipoh (shophouse unit). We understand that the MOP rule does not apply to commercial property. We have cash to pay in full up to 2 mil, but we most likely will be getting bank loan drpending on the interest rate. May we enquire if there is a minimum investment sum for commercial property for ipoh? Can it be jointly under both of our names if we use my wife's status as a Malaysian to purchase a property below the minimum sum, or is that even possible? Thanks so much for ur advice.
